The purposes of this plan are to describe the concept of the Florida Electronic Library, identify the technology components to be deployed to achieve the creation of a virtual library, and recommend strategies for implementation. The Florida Electronic Library Plan is the result of a strategic planning process conducted with a planning team of representatives of Florida libraries and guided by the Florida Library Network Council and the Division of Library and Information Services. The planning team has worked since January 2001 to define the components of the Florida Electronic Library. RMG Consultants, Inc. of Chicago IL, has worked with the planning team to define resource sharing and other technologies that might be implemented and to identify methods for accomplishing goals articulated by the plan.
